in MusashimurayamaCity
武蔵村山市では平成8年度からJETプログラムに参加し、毎年５人の外国語指導助手（ALT）を受け入れています。世界中の英語圏から来日したALTによって、生徒たちはネイティブ・スピーカーから英語の授業を受け、海外の文化を学んでいます。
ALTは中学校に1人ずつ配置され、多彩な活動をおこなっています。中学校では英語の授業補助をするとともに、放課後の英検対策・クラブ活動などに参加しています。また、毎週1回小学校を訪問して基本的な英語と異文化理解の授業をおこなっています。

MusashimurayamaCity joined the JET Programme in 1996 and currently hosts 5 Assistant Language Teachers (ALT) every year. The ALTs from English speaking countries around the world provide the students native English classes and the opportunity to learn first hand about foreign cultures.
Each ALT is placed in a junior high school and participates in various kinds of activities at their schools: As well as assisting junior high school students in English classes, they join club activities and help students to pass the English proficiency test (Eiken) after school time. They also visit an elementary school every week to enhance the student’s understanding of world cultures.
第一中学校 アリス・ロシーニ#1 Junior High School: Alice Roschuni
皆さんこんにちは！アメリカのワシントンＤＣのそばのメリーランド州から来ましたアリスと申します。日本に今まで３年間いました。神奈川県相模原市の二つの高校でＪＥＴのＡＬＴをしていました。日本が大好きです。人は親切、文化は美しい、食べ物はおいしくてヘルシー!日本に来る前は大学で油絵や版画などの美術を学んでいましたが、日本に来てからは日本語の勉強以外にも、東京でジャズヴォーカルを始め、ボランティアの英語の劇団に参加し始めました。暇な時「スウィングダンス」という２０年代から４０年代のアメリカで大人気のパートナーダンスをしに行くのも好きです。皆さんよろしくお願いします!
Hello everyone! My name is Alice and I am from Maryland, near Washington D.C. in America. I’ve been in Japan for three years, working as a JET ALT at two high schools in Sagamihara, Kanagawa. I really love Japan. The people are kind, the culture is beautiful and the food is delicious and healthy! During college I did fine art such as oil painting and printmaking, but since coming to Japan - besides studying Japanese - I’ve started singing jazz in Tokyo and I’ve joined a volunteer-based English theatre group. When I have time, I also like to go out swing dancing, which is a partner dance that was popular in the U.S. from the 1920’s to the 1940’s. I’m very happy to meet you all!

こんにちは、リー・アトキンです。つい最近までワシントンD.C.地域に住んでいました。父が海軍に勤務していたので様々な州に行き、住んでいました。
自由時間には読書、インターネット、スケッチブックづくりをしたり、自分が指導していたアメリカのガールスカウトグループと交流を続けています。
英語に関する知識とアメリカの生活について自分なりの見方を伝え、同時に豊かな日本文化を学ぶことを楽しみにしています。
Hello, my name is Lee Atkin. I most recently am from the Washington D.C. area. My father was in the navy so I have seen and lived in many states.
In my free time like to read, surf the internet, work on my sketchbooks and stay connected to my group of Girl Scouts back home.
I look forward to sharing my knowledge of the English language and my view of American life, as well as learn about the rich Japanese culture.
市立第三中学校：クリス・ヨンス#3 Junior High school: Chris Yonce
こんにちは、私の名前はクリス ヨンスです。年は28才で、アメリカのアラスカ州のイーグル リバーから来ました。自由な時間は、映画を観たり、ショッピングに出かけたり、テニスやスノーボードをしたり、旅行をしたり、また友達と楽しんだりするのが好きです。アラスカ以外に、フィリピン、ハワイ、沖縄、そして愛知県の瀬戸市に住んだ事があります。また日本に住むことができて、日本語が上手になれる事をうれしく思っています。子供達が英語とアメリカの文化を学ぶ為にお手伝いが出来るように一生懸命がんばります。
Hello my name is Chris Yonce. I am 28 years old and am from Eagle River, Alaska of the United States. In my free time, I like to watch movies, go shopping, play tennis, snowboard, travel, and hang out with friends. Other than Alaska, I have lived in the Philippines, Hawaii, Okinawa, and Seto-shi in Aichi-ken. I am very pleased to be living in Japan again and am excited to improve my Japanese speaking ability. I will do my very best to help the students learn English and about American culture.
市立第四中学校：ジャスティン・ベイリー#4 Junior High school: Justin Baileiy
こんにちは。ジャスティン・ベイリーです。アメリカ・インディアナ州出身です。インディアナはスポーツと農業が盛んな州です。パーデュー大学でビジネスと日本語を専攻しました。休みの日に楽器を演奏したり、音楽を聴いたりすることが好きです。4種類の楽器（ギター、ベース、ドラム、クラリネット）を演奏します。また、コーラスの伴奏を5年間していました。読書、エクササイズ、映画鑑賞が大好きで、外国の文化について学ぶことも好きです。大阪に4か月間住んでいたことがあるので、お好み焼きと大阪弁が大好きです。東京には今回初めて来ました。武蔵村山市の生徒たちのために働きながら、自国の文化について教え、日本の文化について学びたいです。日本にいる間に神社を訪ねたり、郷土料理に挑戦してみたいです。武蔵村山市で出会った人々はとても親切なので、できるだけ多くの友達を作りたいと思っています！
Hello everyone my name is Justin Bailey from America. I’m from Indiana, a state that is famous for sports and agriculture. I graduated from Purdue University where I majored in Business and Japanese. In my free time I love playing and listening to music. In fact I actually play 4 different instruments (guitar, bass, drums, and clarinet) and have played in choir for the last 5 years! I also love reading, exercising, watching movies and learning about different cultures. I used to live in Osaka for 4 months so I love okonomiyaki and Osaka-ben! This is my first time coming to Tokyo so I’m looking forward to working with the students of Musashimurayama and teaching them about my culture and also learning more about Japanese culture. During my time here I’d like to see the different temples and try foods from different parts of Japan. Everyone I’ve met in Musashimurayama is so nice and I hope to become friends with as many people as possible!

みなさんこんにちは。
ステファニー・フゥです。イギリス・ロンドン出身です。香港にも２年間住んでいました。日本に来たのは今回が初めてで日本語は初級レベルですが、一生懸命勉強するつもりです！
趣味はハイキング、お菓子作り、サイクリング、旅行と観光です。武蔵村山市にいる間にみなさんと一緒に働き、皆さんから教えてもらえることを楽しみにしています。

My name is Stephanie Fung, and I am from London in the UK. I have also lived in Hong Kong for two years. It’s my first time in Japan. So I am a beginner in Japanese, however I will work hard!
My favorite pastimes include hiking, baking, cycling travelling and sightseeing. During my time here in Musashimurayama, I am looking forward to working and learning from you.
